It doesn't matter who's wrong or right in the clear on the blue moonlight

My TAKE ON FASHION

*Dress Up!
being tired isn't an excuse to not get ready. putting on sweats and a hoodie is just as easy as pulling on jeans and a t-shirt

* Dressing trashy is never cute.
don't show off your bra straps. it's not classy at all. if you're going to wear a tank top, do us the favor of wearing a strapless bra or something. Don't buy a shirt with lace cutouts if you're just going to show us your bra straps. Not cute.

*Dress the part.
for example: boys should not wear fedoras. unless they are indie. any other guy who does looks like a fag.

*Have your own style
what other people wear should not be the deciding factor of whether you wear it or not.  If "last year's" jeans look good on you, then WEAR THEM. Don't believe what the fashion industries are telling you, you don't need brand new clothes every season to "fit in"
getting everything from the same store and dressing just like the mannequins there is not unique. it's really boring. shop everywhere. try new things. and don't be afraid of other people's already-worn-clothes. some of the best clothes i have are from yard sales and thrift stores

*Don't show us your fat.
gross.
we don't want to see that. i'm not saying you should dress like a nun and cover every one of your flaws but don't show it off.  if you have a muffin top.. keyep it hidden. no one wants to see that. it's not hot, it's actually quite gross.

*along with that.. buy things that are your size.
No one's going to be able to tell what size you are. but if you pretend to be a size 3 when in reality you're size 6 they are going to notice

*dress your age.
if you're 40.. don't dress like your 16. Blingy butt jeans, frilly bags and big bump it hair are not for you.
even if something is flattering, that doesn't mean you should wear it. please just dress classy.

*kudos for girls who dress modestly and are still cute.
one thing that really bothers me about utah is the dresses girls wear to dances. either buy one with sleeves or professionally sew on sleeves! yes it is noticeable when you tack on sleeves of different fabric then what your dress is made of. There are plenty of cute dresses out there, it is worth it to spend more on a dress that already has sleeves instead of looking tacky.

*Know what looks good on you.
if you can't wear it with confidence, don't wear it at all.

Chair!

what you'll need:
chair
screw driver
garbage bags
primer
paint
hot glue gun and hot glue(or stapler and staples)
fabric

start with an old chair that needs some more oomph
D.I. is the best place to find one that's super cheap

take off all cushions
these ones just unscrewed off
make sure before you buy it that you'll be able to figure out how to take them off

get it ready to be painted by putting garbage bags under it or some sort of protection so you don't spray the grass a pretty color:)

paint it with primer
spray paint is easiest and gives the best coverage
white is prime (heh heh) since it will brighten the actual color you will paint it - black will dull it down

make sure your eyes and mouth are covered so you don't breath in fumes or get it in your eyes
"you look like a movie star trying not to be recognized!"
that or a terrorist.

paint it with the color after the primer is done
2 coats is best

make sure you get the bottom of it as well
leave to dry

now for the cushions

i didn't get any pictures of making the top one.
but it's going to be different for every chair and every cushion
i just copied what the original fabric was like
so i basically made a sack of sorts and sewed it on
make sure if your fabric has a design on it that you sew it the right way

most bottom cushions will be like this
cut a piece big enough to give 4 inches extra on each side
hot glue (or staple) one side on

pull the fabric super tight and glue on the opposite side
make sure your design stays on straight

do the same for the other 2 sides but LEAVE THE CORNERS
on the last side you do make sure it is pulled very tight

glue the extra fabric from the corners like this
making sure you don't have too many gathers and folds

cover up ugliness (this was on the cushion originally and i just ripped it off before i started

make sure you add a cute label saying you made it :)

put the cushions back on and you're done!

from this                                  to this!

Hunting high and low with your pretty pink bow

The greatest compliment anyone can give me is:
"you have the coolest style"
because anyone can have a cute shirt or cute shoes
but when you've achieved having style, it's worth more
fashions fade
style is forever
